I’m an experienced translator working from German to English (my first language), with a primary focus on art theory and related fields in the humanities.
I’m comfortable drawing upon a range of strategies in my work, depending on the particular needs of the text and its audience. While I naturally see a solid understanding of the technical and linguistic processes involved as crucial to producing a good translation, I aim to combine this with a sensitivity for the individual authorial voice and an ability to find more creative solutions where they are needed.
In addition to my work as a translator, I also have extensive experience as a copyeditor, editor and writer and proven research skills. I take an active interest in translation theory, and in 2023 I received a distinction for my master’s degree in Translation from Goldsmiths, University of London.
